Basic Bolognese
Ingredients:
- olive oil
- 2 onions
- 2 celery stalks
- 4 carrots grated or chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 500gr of minced beef
- 800 gr of tinned chopped tomatoes or about 14 tomatoes
- 2 tbs of tomato puree
- a bit of worcestershire sauce
- 1 ts of thyme leaves ( fresh preferably)
- 800ml of beef stock
- Pasta or Rice something to go with the sauce
Instructions:
- heat the olive oil in a sauce pan and add the onion, celery, carrot and garlic and saute for 5 min
- add the minced beef and saute until brown stirring occasionally
- add all remaining ingredients stir well and then bring to the boil
- cover and simmer for 15 min
- blend the sauce and your done
Note: this freezes really well s you can freeze individual doses and use when needed.
