• 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ts sugar (1/2 cup sugar )
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • oil or butter, for greasing the pan


  1. Preheat oven to 160C
  2. Grease a baking pan pan.
  3. Combine the flour, cornmeal, baking soda, and salt. Then reserve.
  4. In another bowl, combine the sugar and butter,
  5. add the 2 eggs and mix.
  6. mix in the buttermilk.
  7. Add the dry ingredients to the wet, and mix together, it’s okay if there are lumps.
  8. Pour the cornbread batter into the pan, then bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
