Chocolate Salame (Portuguese)


  • 180gr butter
  • 200gr caster sugar
  • 150gr cocoa powder
  • 1 egg
  • 200gr tea biscuits
  • aluminium foil


  1. Break the biscuits into pieces with your hands and and than crush them a bit more, I usually do this in a bowl using a glass with flat bottom to crush. Don’t over do it you don’t want it to be all dust, there should be some relatively large bits too.
  2. Melt the butter in the microwave and mix with the sugar until you have a a creamy mixture.
  3. add the egg and mix well
  4. add the cocoa and mix well again
  5. finally add the biscuits and mix, shape into a cilindre and wrap with foil.
  6. Take it to the fridge for a few hours or overnight until it gets hard.
  7. slice and enjoy!
